Bunker Sales Trader

Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Bunker Sales Trader to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving the sales of marine fuels (bunkers) to customers within the shipping industry, including vessel operators, shipowners, and management companies. The Bunker Sales Trader will also be required to manage relationships with suppliers, understand market trends, and ensure optimal pricing and profit margins. A strong understanding of the marine fuel market is essential to succeed in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Source and secure bunker fuel sales to shipping companies, vessel owners, and operators worldwide.
  • Negotiate pricing, supply terms, and contracts with customers, ensuring competitive pricing and favorable terms.
  • Manage the relationship with existing clients and develop new customer accounts.
  • Coordinate with suppliers, port agents, and logistics teams to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of bunker fuels.
  • Monitor and analyze market trends, fuel prices, and industry regulations to provide strategic insights and maintain competitiveness.
  • Provide excellent customer service by responding to inquiries, resolving issues, and offering tailored solutions.
  • Work closely with the operations and finance teams to ensure accurate invoicing, credit management, and risk mitigation.
  • Stay up-to-date with global fuel regulations, environmental standards, and any potential impacts on the bunker market.
  • Prepare regular reports on sales activities, market developments, and business forecasts for senior management.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Bunker Sales Trader or in a similar sales/trading role within the marine or energy sector.
  • Strong knowledge of the global bunker market and marine fuel supply chains.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple accounts simultaneously.
  • Strong analytic skills to assess market conditions and determine pricing strategies.
  • Self-motivated with a high level of initiative and an entrepreneurial mindset.
