Company Summary: One of the top Commercial Property & Casualty Insurance providers is looking to add a Commercial Underwriter to their growing team. They are looking for a candidate to work on new business and renewals in the Commercial Middle Market space with only a couple years of commercial underwriting experience.
- Review and analyze commercial insurance applications, financial statements, and other relevant documents to assess risk and determine coverage eligibility.
- Conduct thorough research on industry trends, market conditions, and competitor offerings to make informed decisions during the underwriting process.
- Collaborate with brokers, agents, and other stakeholders to gather necessary information and clarify any discrepancies in applications.
- Apply underwriting guidelines and company policies to evaluate the risk potential of each application and determine appropriate terms, conditions, and premium rates.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. Relevant certifications or designations (e.g., CPCU, AU) are a plus.
- 2+ years of underwriting experience
- Strong understanding of insurance principles, risk assessment, and underwriting guidelines.
