The Wealth Credit Management Underwriter is Structured Lending Analyst or Credit Underwriter, in the Private Bank. The lending is typically fully collateralized against either Commercial Real Estate, Aircraft, Art Collection, Illiquid Listed Stocks. We expect the incumbent to be credit professional who stays abreast of developments within own field and contributes to directional strategy of the Private Banking Lending business. IT would be an added advantage if the candidate also has a recognized technical authority in this field. We also expect the candidate to have basic commercial awareness for lending transactions. This is an individual contributor role and part of a larger regional team and good inter-personal communication and interaction skills are required in order to guide, influence and convince other internal stakeholders, and occasionally external customers as well.
Responsibilities:
* Assist the Transactor with the Credit Greenlight memos (as applicable)
* Full credit underwriting with appropriate risk return characteristics based on Citi's Credit and Product Standards, policies and procedures.
* Preparation of Credit Applications ensuring accuracy and completeness of data
* Financial Analysis including cash flow statements
* Collateral Evaluation covering Commercial Real Estate, Art, Aircraft and other asset classes
* Preparing and negotiating credit documentation for facilities, including liaison with internal and external legal counsel, as required, as well as undertaking the annual review of documentation
* Preparing and reviewing facility covenants
* Assisting in Portfolio Management, including Annual Credit Reviews, covenant monitoring and compliance, waivers and extensions and all related system maintenance with the Data Management Teams.
* Problem Recognition and assisting with classified loans remedial management
* Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding the company's, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications:
* 6-10 years of experience
* Strong and proven analytical, financial structuring and execution skills
* Experience as a credit officer
* Strong knowledge of Company's Credit Policies, Product Programs and Company Policies
* An in depth knowledge and understanding of Financial Analysis including Financial and cash flow modelling
* Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
* Good negotiation skills
* Strong initiative and interactive approach to problem solving
* Displays flexibility and independence in a demanding environment
* Team Player Education:
* Bachelor's/University degree, Master's degree preferred
This is a 1st Line of Defence job role and works closely with the Business Partners in Lending and Client Management.
