Project Manager (Local Regulatory Reporting) - Information Technology Group, APAC
Our client, one of the major European investment bank is looking for a key project manager in their fresh regulatory reporting team to keep up with the demands of comprehensive and frequent information on bank's activity. They're reinventing their reporting process with the team sitting in junction of finance and IT, and responsible for designing and maintaining solutions.
As part of the team, the candidate will ensure the reporting requirements from the users are captured, efficient propositions are made and reviewed, developments delivered by IT are validated and user comfort on the long run is taken care of by proper follow up.
Key Responsibilities
Assistance to project management
-To put in place and maintain the projects documentation:
- Define roles and responsibilities
- Document risks and issues, highlighting impacts
- Maintain planning
- Follow up on action
-To ensure regular and efficient communication within the project team and to the stakeholders
- Coordinate the contributions from the various parties to ensure the planning is followed
- Ensure escalations are made timely to avoid unnecessary time/budget slippage
Contribute to the efficiency of the delivered solution
- Write and/or review BA documentation (e.g. function spec, user guide)
- Keep track of long term benefits of solutions put designed and rolled out
- Perform/support system testing (e.g. SIT & UAT)
System Enhancement & Production Support
- Resolve production incident raised by end user or by IT
- Identify the root cause of the incident by applying sound error tracing technics
- Liaise with the related parties (e.g. IT, Operations, Front Office) to resolve the incident in a timely manner
Specific Qualifications Required
Essential Knowledge/Skills :
- Project management skills demonstrated on large and complex project
- Solid backgrounds in Finance function with a good understanding of accounting terms, processes, instruments and transactions
- Good understanding of general banking operations, applications and front to back framework
- Excellent communicator in English (verbal/written) and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines under pressure
- Able to understand complex financial system architecture
Qualifications and Experiences:
- With a minimum of 5 years' relevant experience
- Experiences in project management
- Good knowledge of Accounting Systems (ERP systems like SAP, General Ledger Sourcing)
Other Preferred Competencies:
- CPA, CFA or other related professional certificates
- Experience with Basel III Liquidity Coverage Ratio
- Regulatory/ Financial reporting exposure (HKMA, MAS or other APAC regulators; Basel rules)
- Experience with database querying (SQL language)
- Other Computer skills : MS Access/ Excel Macro/ programming language
- Available for business travel
