Projects & Structured Trade Finance Manager - Dubai
Work actively on strategic Finance Projects involving business activities, business development or required to optimise existing operations.
Support in structuring optimum financing deals and identifying financing instruments on complex trading transactions.
Participate in drawing up annual business development plans in trade and corporate finance and to implement these plans with support from the project teams.
Reports to: Group CFO and CEO
POSITION DESCRIPTION
Responsible for Corporate Finance, Project Finance, Structuring Financing solutions, and Accounting Projects with the support of the CFO and the relevant internal business stakeholders.
Prepare and present strategic management presentations for executive and commercial stakeholders, internally and externally, working directly with the project's teams and other internal stakeholders as required.
Lead projects requiring financing and commercial direction in a coordinated and efficient manner.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Proactively take initiative to drive the delivery of strategic projects, including preparing Finance projects plans, delivery methodology, critical paths analysis, using financial comparatives and financial ratios analysis.
- Proactively highlight projects pitfalls and carry out project audits to ensure strategic projects stay on course.
- Structuring transactions, developing and negotiating term sheets to execution
- Engineer trade financing required by the Company with the Trade Finance Manager
- Support in preparing financing requirements presentations to financing institutions or counterparties
- Providing financial reports and interpret financial information to management while recommending further courses of action
- On a monthly and quarterly basis, prepare strategic projects reports for CEO and CFO consumption
- On a monthly basis, prepare business performance presentations
- Drive the implementation of improvements in business processes and maintain financial compliance
- Establishing ties with market participants including international banks, financial institutions, (trade finance intermediaries), corporates and commodity boards and organizations.
- Create, update and keep up to date Projects & Structured Trade Finance process and procedures.
- Active participation to lesson learn sessions.
- Any other duties as may be assigned by senior management.
Qualifications and experience
- Post graduate degree in Business Administration, Banking or Finance from a recognized University or a professional qualification in Banking or International Trade Finance
- 15+ Proven experience in trade finance and project finance. The candidate must demonstrate experience and knowledge of designing structured trade finance. Can design and execute all aspects of a transaction lifecycle from complex modelling to non-numerical one (due diligence review, documentation, report writing, contract review, presenting to the Board, and investor-facing roles).
- Sound experience of at least 8 years with a leading commodity organisation and familiarity with the major trade finance products
- Ability to communicate and function in a culturally diverse and change oriented setting and therefore knowledge of the workings of the main segments of the trade finance markets and the participants in major regions of Africa.
- Ability to meet senior officials of banks, corporates and governments
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including ability to work collaboratively to attain goals
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
