Responsibilities:
Underwriting New Business Opportunities:
- Evaluate incoming submissions and determine if they align with our underwriting appetite.
- Assess risk factors, pricing, and profitability to make informed decisions.
- Prepare and issue quotes and binders for new business.
Renewal Management:
- Handle assigned renewals by reviewing current policy status, conditions, and pricing.
- Gather updated information and take appropriate action.
- Ensure smooth workflow and excellent customer service to agents.
Relationship Building:
- Cultivate strong relationships with brokers, agents, and clients.
- Provide a high level of customer service and accountability.
- Tailor your approach to meet the unique needs of each stakeholder.
Qualifications:
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a commercial underwriter, preferably in the agricultural or farm insurance industry.
- Proven track record of successfully underwriting new business and managing renewals.
Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with brokers and clients.
- Independence and confidence in decision-making.
Education:
- While formal education is not the primary focus, a relevant degree or industry certifications are advantageous.
