Bain Data Governance
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement an appropriate Data Governance framework
- Oversee Data Domains and Data Owners across various functions to ensure their adherence to responsibilities
- Manage the data glossary, data catalogue, and report inventory
- Define Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), metrics, and workflows for Data Quality (DQ) and facilitate remediation
- Collaborate with Data Owners to establish DQ KPIs, progress dashboards, and criteria for "good data quality"
- Coordinate with IT, Reporting teams, and Operations to deploy DQ rules/checks and manage escalations
- Monitor manual adjustments/touchpoints and implement actions to address them
- Establish targets and oversee progress monitoring/reporting
- Collaborate with Data Owners to set and achieve DQ improvement targets within defined timeframes
- Assist IT/Reporting teams in creating senior stakeholder reporting/dashboards for transparency and progress tracking
- Recruit, develop, and sustain a high-performing team
- Work with Data Owners to define data completeness, accuracy, and establish sign-off processes
- Partner with IT to prioritize and communicate decisions regarding competing requests
- Monitor the progress of data issues and DQ KPIs, conducting deep dives and root cause analyses as needed
- Implement a data certification process and change management process
- Establish governance and conduct periodic reviews/audits to ensure report data accuracy
- Conduct regular reviews of business glossary, data dictionary, and report catalog
- Promote adoption and proper usage of the Data Governance framework throughout the organization
- Evaluate and redesign process flows across functions and key users as necessary.
Qualifications:
- 5-8 years of experience in asset management or closely related field
- Experience standing up or maintaining data governance program at similar firm
- Comfort with a data-intensive and high transaction volume environment
- Deadline-driven mindset
- Strong process discipline: ability to design new processes & drive continuous improvement in existing ones
- Direct programming expertise not required; proven ability to manage programmers/engineers is required
- Proven experience collaborating effectively with multiple stakeholders/internal customers
- Strong communication and relationship management skills
