The Real Estate Development Associate will be responsible for:
- Support, and eventually lead, all development functions, including acquisitions, financial analysis, and structuring, due diligence, entitlements, construction management, reporting, investor & lender relations, leasing, etc for a large development portfolio
- Provide support to real estate development projects throughout the project life cycle including due diligence, financing, entitlement, design, construction and marketing
- Perform assigned research and analysis necessary to support real estate transactions
- Research and analyze market and competitive property activity by tracking rents, sales per SF, operating costs, and competitive supply
- Create pro forma for new developments including market information, operating expense data, and estimated hard and soft costs
- Assist to develop and maintain project budgets, schedules, and cash flows. Provide concise reporting to senior management regarding critical topics and financial projections
- Oversee the monthly requisition cycle ensuring accuracy and timeliness of accounting functions, budget maintenance, and financial reporting
- Monitor construction costs, budgeting, and the time line of deliverables
The Real Estate Development Associate has the following qualifications:
- Between 2-3 years of related real estate experience with a real estate investment or development firm, reputable investments sales team or brokerage firm, or real estate advisory firm
- Bachelor degree from a top tier institution
- Excellent understanding of Argus and Excel with spreadsheet analysis experience
- Experience tracking budget versus proforma, change orders, construction reports, etc.
- Site selection and sub-market understanding; underwriting and market analysis experience
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
