Role: Regulatory Compliance Lead Commodities

What you'll do
You will be part of a growing company in a dynamic environment where you can truly make an impact in shaping the Compliance department. The Compliance Lead Commodities will be part of the Compliance Department and closely involved in the activities of our client. Main objective is to inspire and lead a culture in our organization by ensuring that we comply with both internal and external regulations, and by keeping our business up-to-date with the latest legislative, regulatory, and best practice developments. We strongly believe that fostering a culture of compliance requires more than just following policies and rules; it also involves understanding the context and intent behind regulations.
- Responsible for compliance reporting to the global compliance director
- Develop and maintain regulatory framework (among other products: Whites/EECs, GoOs, VERs) with support from R&D and Legal
- Conduct regulatory impact assessments
- Develop new & review existing policies and procedures
- Provide training to employees on framework & internal policies
- Advise various teams within compliance issues
- Develop compliance KPIs for the business
- Conduct periodic compliance reviews
- Assist with (external) audits (e.g. ICROA and Bonsucro)
- Chair of the Risk and Compliance Committee
- Inspiring and leading a culture of compliance
Who you are
- Master degree, preferably in Law
- 6+ years of experience in regulatory compliance, preferably in commodities trading or similar industry; energy, oil & gas, logistic
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (additional language proficiency considered as valuable asset)
- Strong knowledge of RED II/III, EU ETS Directive (preferable including local implementation)
- Prior experience working in voluntary product trading environment with supervisory authorities
- Proven ability to work effectively with different stakeholders in a global setting
- A 'hands on' approach and able to work at the operational level while also considering the big picture
