Position Title: Remote Senior Commercial Underwriter
Location: Ideal candidates residing in Michigan or Wisconsin with Wisconsin writing experience.
About Our Client:
Join a leading insurance provider, as a Senior Commercial Lines Underwriter. This is a remote role offering the flexibility to work from anywhere within Michigan or Wisconsin.
Responsibilities:
- Assess and manage multiple commercial line coverage submissions from producers.
- Utilize various criteria such as location, hazards, inspection reports, and underwriting guidelines to evaluate risks.
- Ensure compliance with underwriting rules, guidelines, and company philosophy throughout the process.
- Review inspection reports and claims, recommending risk improvements as necessary.
- Correspond with external stakeholders to develop procedures and evaluate risks.
- Build and maintain relationships with agents, producers, and other insurance professionals.
- Train agency staff on company products, services, processes, and underwriting philosophy.
- Provide mentorship and technical support to other underwriters.
Qualifications:
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: Minimum three years of commercial insurance experience, including underwriting policies and procedures.
- Skills: Strong understanding of commercial insurance contracts, insurance laws, and underwriting principles. Proficiency in analyzing and interpreting commercial inspections. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
