Job Description: You will play a critical role in supporting my clients sales team by evaluating risks, conducting underwriting assessments, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality insurance products and services to my clients business customers. This role combines underwriting expertise with a commitment to customer satisfaction and operational excellence. This is a hybrid role, with 2 days in-office and 3 days remote.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct underwriting activities such as referral review, post-bind reviews, endorsement requests, rewrites, and cancellations to ensure adherence to underwriting guidelines and profitability goals.
- Perform thorough risk assessments and analyses to determine appropriate coverage and pricing consistent with company appetite.
- Contribute to fostering a results-oriented culture that emphasizes business growth and exceptional customer experiences.
- Support customer service functions including billing discrepancy resolution, responding to inquiries, and ensuring seamless cross-channel quote and purchase flows.
- Adapt and thrive in a dynamic start-up environment, embracing changes in technology, underwriting guidelines, compliance regulations, and business strategies.
- Handle premium audit services and communicate effectively with customers in written correspondence.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong commercial property or casualty underwriting experience, ideally within small commercial lines (General Liability, Property, Workers Compensation, Commercial Auto).
- Ability to multitask effectively, prioritize tasks, and deliver an elevated customer experience.
- Proven analytical skills with the ability to navigate ambiguity and escalate issues as needed.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Capacity to establish and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues and customers.
- Self-starter mindset with a willingness to learn new skills and adapt to evolving technologies.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's or associate degree is required.
- Previous experience in underwriting or related fields within the insurance industry is preferred
