Key Roles and Responsibilities of the Derivatives Lawyer, AVP/VP, Investment Banking
- Negotiate and review legal documentation (including ISDAs and CSAs, NAFMII, liquidity arrangements & etc,), review netting and collateral opinions;
- Provide advisory on regulatory issues and provide support to a broad range of matters / projects
- Contributes as part of a larger team, and work collaboratively with team members to advise a business or functional area.Be an internal resource capable of using knowledge of businesses, products services and/or strategies to articulate and advance legal positions
- Conduct legal research and investigation, and craft legal solutions,
- Provide sound recommendations to eliminate and mitigate legal and regulatory risk of resulting in revenue loss or reputation damage etc.
- Working with the legal team in alignment to global legal strategies
- Communicates and collaborates with internal and external stakeholders as Risk, Compliance, Audit, External Counsels
Requirements of the Derivatives Lawyer, AVP/VP, Investment Banking
- 5-10 years PQE, called to bar in Singapore/UK/Commonwealth Jurisdictions or equivalent
- Relevant private practice, or in-house experience is required
- Asia-pacific (APAC) / Cross-border work is advantageous
- Experience in a Corporate/Wholesale Bank and/or rating agency
- Strong technical skills with a strategic mindset and business acumen - we are looking for someone who isn't adverse to roll up their sleeves and be hands on
- Excellent stakeholder management, and keen eye for detail
