The Role
This bank, governed by numerous regulatory requirements, is seeking a regulatory affairs officer. In this role, you will collaborate with the Regulatory Affairs team and other departments to keep the bank aligned with regulatory changes. role demands detailed regulatory knowledge and an understanding of the overall regulatory framework and its intentions. You should be able to simplify complex issues when communicating regulatory developments to colleagues, aiming to be a trusted advisor on regulatory matters. You will remain calm under pressure, adopt a proactive approach, engage the right people, and follow up on issues efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Monitor relevant regulatory developments using regulatory change management tools.
- Assess the legal impact of financial regulatory laws, focusing on conduct-related laws, and support colleagues assessing operational impacts.
- Assist with the implementation of new regulatory changes.
- Support the Regulatory Expert Network, where the regulatory change portfolio is discussed.
- Contribute to reports on regulatory changes for senior management and the Regulatory Change Committee.
- Involvement in policy management activities.
- Work within a small team, offering broad exposure to various regulatory topics.
Skills and Qualifications
- A master's degree in law, preferably specializing in financial regulatory law.
- At least 3 years of experience in a similar role within the financial industry, a law firm, or a financial regulatory authority.
- Strong knowledge of Dutch and EU financial laws and regulations.
- Experience with impact assessments and the ability to translate laws and regulations into practical advice and policies.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Dutch and English.
- Ability to simplify complex matters.
